BCCI president Sourav Ganguly is likely to be discharged from Kolkata hospital on January 7.
The former India skipper was supposed to be discharged on Wednesday morning.
Fans had gathered outside the hospital with placards wishing Ganguly, amid tight security.
Ganguly, however, told the doctors that he wished to stay back for another day.
The former India cricket team captain was rushed to the hospital last Saturday after he complained of chest pain and dizziness.
Ganguly underwent angioplasty after three blockages were detected in his coronary artery.
Doctors have advised the 48-year-old to undergo two more angioplasty after 2-3 weeks.
