The cdc recommends the next round of covid-19 vaccinations go to those considered essential to our economy and at high risk of exposure.

Superintendent of east allen county schools marilyn hissong is glad teachers are on the docket because it will help keep her school's staffed in the coming semester.

He wants to see educators in class, teaching face to face, permanently.

"it's important for kids to be in the classroom and teachers to be in the classroom to teach our kids.

I haven't met a single teacher who has said they can't do their job best in the classroom."banks says the state of indiana has adapted the cdc guidelines to determine who gets the vaccine next here.

But there is still uncertainty about the exact date."we'll have to see how readily available it is, when it becomes available to staff."

Hissong says east allen county schools won't force staff to get vaccinated, it's the individual's right to choose.

Banks says he hopes teachers will jump at the opportunity.
