As more people get vaccinated for COVID-19 - local hospitals are making sure they have enough space to store the vaccine.

Right now enloe medical center is still rolling out the first shipment of both pfizer and moderna vaccines.

Action news now reporter dani masten is live at enloe with how they're staying on schedule.

Alan - hospital reps tell me they have been very efficient in their vaccination process.

Pharmacy director chris marking tells me they are on track and thinks butte county is vaccinating more than other surrounding counties.

So far they say they haven't had a delay in shipments of the vaccines and have been able to vaccinate up to 2oo hundred people a day.

We have been working very closely with butte county public health.

They have been doing a great job with getting us the supplies we need.

We are working weekly calls with them to keep opening more tiers up and get the rest of our community vaccinated.

Marking tells me after taking the pfizer vaccine out of freezer and mixing it with sailine - it has a 6 hour window before it goes bad.

The moderna vaccine can last 30 days in the refrigerator and six months in the freezer before going bad.

They have a back up generator running the freezers and fridges at all times and have back up freezers on site.
