In high definition this is the 41nbc news at six... the brookdale warming center in macon officially opened wednesday.
Nonprofit organizations helped to bring the center together for the homeless and families in need.
Today, the center announced their new director for the facility, steve bell.
As of now, bell says the center will only be open for the ninety days, but they will plan accordingly if that were to change.
He will be in charge of daily activities at the center.
The biggest goal is to meet the basic needs of those that are vulnerable that's what we're doing here, that happens, we're meeting the basic needs, the goodie and the candy of the whole thing is to get those agencies in here to help people even more."
They've housed eight people at the facility so far.
