Tonight: as one rochester bar and grill closes its doors... others may be opening as developers descend on downtown.

Kimt news three's anthony monzon joins us live with the latest on the future of the property occupied by legends.

Anthony?

Well katie and george... in 2013 the city aquired this parcel of land on the riverfront... recognizing its potential to be a key part of redeveloping downtown.

At the time legends was already leasing out the space... but with the bar and restaurant now closing its doors... the possibilities are beginning to flourish as to what could come next.

The first step in moving forward could come later this month... with city council deciding whether to demolish the building legends had been operating out of.

If they choose to do so... the city says it will activate the space with temporary improvements like turf and light vegitation.

One official tells me that could possibly happen as soon as this spring.

From there the city will seek community input as to what should come next.

Rochester projects manager josh johnsen tells me the city will want the space to address local priorities... which could include one issue city leaders have high on their "we definitely want to incorporate the city priorities and the community priorities in this site, and that includes affordable housing, as well as potentially affordable ownership opportunities, and that could be in the form of condos."

And officials tell me what comes next here will be particularly important... with the property linking development sites both north and south of this site along the zumbro river.

Live in rochester... anthony monzon... thank you anthony.

Project manager josh johnsen also says the city will move slowly developing the property.

Riverfront parcels such as that don't come
