On the escalating scare of bird flu in the country, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on January 09 announced ban of import of live birds in Delhi and the Ghazipur poultry market will remain closed for 10 days.
"We have sent some samples to a lab in Jalandhar, the reports will come by day after tomorrow.
Delhi Government will take the necessary decision based on reports.
Delhi Government is following guidelines issued by the Centre Government.
Veterinary officers are doing surveillance at Ghazipur poultry market, Delhi zoo and DDA parks at Hauz Khas village, Dwarka, Paschim Vihar.
We have sent 104 samples to Jalandhar for testing.
The import of live birds is being banned in Delhi from today and the Ghazipur poultry market will remain closed for 10 days," said Delhi CM.
