Three trucks loaded with Covishield vaccine have left for the airport from vaccine maker Serum Institute of India's facility in Pune, as part of the first consignment of the vaccine.
The vaccine doses will be shipped to different locations in the country.
The first phase of COVID-19 vaccination drive will start from January 16 in India.

Speaking to mediapersons, DCP Namrata Patil said that administration has made elaborate security arrangements for the first consignment of the vaccine.
"The first consignment of the vaccine has been dispatched from the facility of Serum Institute of India here.
We have made elaborate security arrangements," said DCP Patil.
