Following a glacier burst in Uttarakhand's Chamoli, Union Home Minister Amit Shah promised all possible help for relief and return to normalcy.

Indo-Tibetan Border Police, National and State Disaster Response Forces, and the Army were involved in rescue and relief efforts.
The glacier burst caused flash floods, and also damaged a hydel power project.
