Two AN-32 planes also carried marine commandos and relief materials.
ITBP said rescue work was carried out throughout the night.
Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said the cause of mishap is not known yet.
He also said the state has all the necessary machineries available for rescuing of people.
