WHO Team Says It's Unlikely , COVID-19 Leaked From China Lab .

The international team of scientists with the World Health Organization (WHO) traveled to Wuhan, China, in order to discover the origins of the coronavirus.

They found that the virus likely jumped from an animal to a human.

This discounts theories that it was leaked from a lab in Wuhan.

The findings suggest that the laboratory incidents hypothesis is extremely unlikely to explain the introduction of the virus to the human population, Peter Ben Embarek, WHO, via AP News.

The lab-leak theory was one that was propagated by former President Donald Trump.

China officials have rebuked the theory.

.

The team of WHO investigators reported that they were granted a higher level of access than expected to examine possible locations of the beginning of the outbreak.

These locations included the Wuhan lab at the center of the leak theory and the massive Huanan Seafood Market
