Temperatures in Braemar in Aberdeenshire plunged to minus 23 degrees Celsius overnight - the UK's coldest February since 1955.
Malcolm MacIntyre from Braemar Mountain Rescue said the very cold conditions meant the risk of avalanches remained "very high".
