Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed over a 'chaadar' to Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on the 809th Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti.
Urs is observed on the death anniversary of a Sufi saint.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also handed over a 'chaadar'.
Gandhi was seen posing with 'chaadar' in Delhi before it was offered.
Naqvi said, “This is the seventh time that PM Modi sent 'chaadar' here.
He also sent a message along with 'chaadar' and sent good wishes on the 809th Urs of Khwaja.
PM Modi called the festival an example of communal harmony and said many faiths and traditions are heritage of India.
PM Modi said that saints contributed to preserving heritage.
Khwaja Moinuddin a symbol of our traditions and his messages of love, unity and service are inspiring.
