While addressing an event on World Hearing Day on March 03, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Harsh Vardhan said that National Programme for Prevention and Control of Deafness (NPPCD) will target over 6 percent of India's population with disabling hearing loss.
"Our National Program for Prevention and Control of Deafness has enhanced its reach to cover nearly 80% of the country's population.
We plan to expand access to affordable hearing technologies for all those in need," he added.
