Today a new naia softball top 25 poll getting released for the first time since the preseason poll.
That first poll had the sou raiders ranked number one in the country.
That is the same spot the raiders have held since winning the 2019 national championship.
Well, no change with the new poll.
The raiders are still ranked as the best team in the country.
This is after a 15-1 start to the year.
Ace gabby sandoval and number two pitcher lauren quirke have been white hot.
That has made it really difficult for teams to even get close to the raiders.
That includes when sandoval and quirke threw a no hitter and perfect game back-to-back.
But the big change comes for oit.
Oit was not even ranked in the pre season poll.
But it would appear as though the best start in program history may have changed the minds of those that contribute to the poll.
Because the owls are not just in the top 25.
Oregon tech is ascending all the way into the top 10.
Oit landed at number 7 in the nation.
Tech is 14 and 0 on the season, that is the best record the program has ever started with.
