3 a couple of business owners are asking for fairness tonight in the enforcement of an obscenity law.they were initially given clearance to open their second adult store in carencro next month... but now city officials say some of the items they sell wo't be allowed....news fiftee's kenyn darr has the story.

Stand-up: one couple finds themselves in a bind after receiving concerns from city officials...that their new adult store may be violating a city ordinance.nat: i think i's completely, overly broad.

To back up just a hair, this is our third store.

W've been in business for twenty plus trouble free years.vo: co-owner michael menard says carencro city officials informed them that they may be in violation of an obscenity ordinance...after initially giving them clearance to open their second crave romance boutique location.sot: they back peddled after receiving a complaint that says we might be in violation of obscenity laws.

W've looked at the obscenity statute, i's incredibly broad.vo: the ordinance prohibits the distribution of adult videos...literature and sexual toys...but menard questions its enforcement after he visited several major retailers in carencro and bought three hundred dollars worth of items he alleges are in violation of the obscenity ordinance.sot: they sell items that are exactly the items i plan to sell here.
