Two terrorists were killed in an overnight encounter with security forces in J&K’s Anantnag.
Security forces launched a cordon, search operation in Kandipora in Anantnag’s Bijbehara area.
Operation was launched following specific inputs about presence of terrorists in the area.
Police said the search operation turned into an encounter after terrorists fired upon forces.
Police added that the identity of the slain terrorists were being ascertained.
“We received specific inputs about presence of two JeM terrorists in Kandipora village.
Police, Army, CRPF jointly launched the search operation yesterday to nab the terrorists.
We resumed operation today, early morning in which two terrorists were eliminated.
Militancy is not rising, in fact, the number of anti-terrorist operations is rising,” IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said.
