The parade has been canceled this year, but local some local bars are still hoping to capitalize on the traditional celebrations.these are advertisements appearing on social media sites.
It's being portrayed by some as a party, and live entertainment provided by others.
One bar owner tells me they're not expecting large crowds because people know seating will be limited.
Others aren't taking any chances.
This bar plans on being closed on saturday to avoid any situations that might get them in trouble with the state liquor authority.
Luna is a restaurant that serves alcohol, and the owner isn't sure what to expect, but he does know this.

Everyone will need to be seated, be 6 feet apart, and wear their masks when not seated.
They will need to order drinks as well as food, so all cdc guidelines need to be followed and abided by.
The health department is hopeful people will do the right thing.

There's going to be no specific manpower down there as in previous years with walking, and varick street will not be closed to vehicular traffic, so we just hope that everyone goes and enjoys the festivities, and they're doing it in a safe and responsible way.
The utica police are also cautioning people if you are going to drink, do it responsibly.
