Friday Night Blitz: Spring Week 2

Nine games featuring 14 local teams in the second week of spring football in southern Oregon.

Pad-clashing installment of the blitz.

Its friday night its time for some football.

My partner cameron derby is across the way.

Cameron, it felt a lot more like a fall football night.

Oh man the sun was coming down us.

I didnt even need a jacket.

And there were some really good football games to cover.

Cameron let's start at dutch meyer for crater and grants pass.

We have family in the stands.

Cheerleaders and a mascot that has been working out.

Cameron the black tornado got on a bus early this morning to play tualatin.

And they didn't wait long to get things going.

Colby neron heaves one down the field and nolan morris reels it in... and there he goes.

An 80-yard touchdown strike to make it 7-0 in the first.

South medford on was on the road this week.

The panthers go up to roseburg and beat the indians by double digits.

South medford improves to 1-1 and after last week's loss to crater.

Roseburg plays its first game of the year, so it falls to 0-1.

So after just a couple weeks into the season.

A big take away for me is how good crater and grants pass both are.

Tonight, grants pass got the win, but crater played the cavemen tough.

Grants pass has so much size.

Crater has so much speed and athleticism.

It will be really interesting to watch crater play north medford.

It has been a real treat to see these old rivalries happening.

But josh, i think the real tonight was seeing all of the klamath basin schools here in the valley.

Mazama visiting eagle point.

It is really rare that we see all of the klamath schools here on the same weekend.

We were looking forward to this all week long.

This is senior dylan smalley trying to get around the edge but he is tracked down.
