Monday Evening Weather

16 WAPT Chief Meteorologist David Hartman has the forecast for Jackson and Central Mississippi.

Springtime action for the first half ofthe week, there's gonna be off and onshowers and yeah, thunderstorms. So alittle bit on the stormy side today wehad the round of showers and stormsmoved through early in the day andnotice how the clouds break apart.

Wesaw some sunshine up towards the Deltacounties.

Bright sunshine.

Problem is,though, this is a very weak frontalboundary and it isn't gonna go anywhere. It's gonna sit there, and I'll probablyactually drift a little bit further tothe North.

So on Tuesday, an additionalround of showers and thunderstorms willdevelop.

Not widespread, but scatteredshowers.

Areas of thunderstorms movingacross the area and they should bearound from the get go and continue offand on through the morning, right oninto the afternoon tomorrow.

So we'llbe watching for that.

And then we gotthat southerly flow, so it's gonna bewarm and humid as well, so you can seethe best chance looks like to be thesouth half of the area, but a lot ofclouds and scattered showers andthunderstorms off and on through theday, and that looks like it'll carryover on to tomorrow night.

Uh, there isthe chance, a low chance to all thatone or two of those storms, just anisolated threat of a gusty wind andmaybe a little bit of small hail thatstorm lifting to the north.

This is thebig one for Wednesday, and this appearsto have a good potential for a reallylarge area of severe storms across theSouthern states on Wednesday.

And thiscould be, uh, fairly significant withlarge hail and the threat of thestronger tornadoes.

Watching thatsituation very, very closely is thatarea of low pressure develops that overthe Southwestern states and right there,Dixie Alley Severe thunderstorms aregoing to be possible, starting by,think about lunch time and thencarrying over right on into the eveningtime and then behind that it will turncooler.

64 is your low tonight.Unseasonably mild.

A couple showersstart to fire up late tonight throughthe day tomorrow.

Scattered showers andthunderstorms. Looks like the bestcoverage should be the south half ofthe viewing area.

78 the high fortomorrow, and more showers and stormsaround for tomorrow.

Looking at about65 for the low seven day forecast. There's the threat of ST Patrick's Day.Severe thunderstorms behind that.

Avery nice stretch of weather.Yeah.Mm, mm hmm.
