Sandoval earns 100th career win, becomes ninth NAIA softball pitcher to reach milestone

SOU softball ace reached a new milestone in her decorated college career, becoming the ninth player in NAIA history to reach 100 career wins.

Coming into today-- gabby sandoval was one win away from another historic mark in her softball career.

The fifth-year senior has been taking back her lost season with a vengeance as she dominated hitters start after start.

Today was no different.

With her tenth complete-game victory of the 2021 season, gabby sandoval became just the ninth player in n-a-i-a history to win 100 career games as a pitcher.

In her stellar raiders career-- sandoval boasts a miniscule 1.90 e-r-a, has over 570 strikeouts and even 11 saves.

After debating whether to return this season for a fifth year following the shortened 2020 season, sandoval seems to be making the most of her final year.

So how high can sandoval climb on the n-a-i-a's career wins list?

She's only two away from tying seventh place.

If the current pace continues with sandoval pitching two games for each four-game series, she would have 14 more appearances for the regular season.

Add in some postseason games and sandoval has a very real chance of shooting up this leader board.

And the raiders wrapped up another weekend series sweep to move to 19-1 this season.
