It's been a tough year for hotels but luckily townplace suites is one of the hotels where business is picking up.

The lobby is largely empty on a tuesday afternoon, but hotel management says the arrival of safe and effective vaccines has increased business here.

Now that more vaccines are starting to come out and more people are feeling alot more comfortable going out in the community our hotel has definitely seen an uprise in people we have staying in the hotel.

Linoux had to lay off a good portion of his staff when the pandemic began a year ago.

Now, with business again picking up, he has been able to bring back any staffers who wanted to return.

Business has been on or off, it started picking up heavily within the last month or two.

Townplace suites occupancy rate is directly tied to mayo clinic.

People having birthday parties here has also helped with business picking up.

In rochester, more than 670,000 hotel industry jobs and nearly 4 million hospitality jobs were lost in 2020 due to the pandemic.

That was the finding published in the american hotel and lodging association's state of the hotel industry 2021 report.
