More than a thousand doses were available at the local community clinic at east hills mall and that's where we find ron johnson with the wrap up of the mass vaccination event today.

1100 doses of the vaccine were available for people with an appointment at the covid-19 vaccination clinic.
People as far away from kansas city came all the way up here to get their first shot today.
Today's event started at noon.
Organizers had a good handle of getting everybody in and out of the clinic pretty fast.
Our cameras weren't allowed inside but we spoke to the guards about the process of those getting their shots.
It's a bit like a hospital inside.
Very organized.

The national guard will be back in three weeks to give out the second dose of the vaccine.
