In evansville - people making their voices heard over the weekend.... the student-led initiative "students of color e-v-v" --- along with others - gathered downtown sunday - standing in solidarity - against the deaths of george floyd and breonna taylor.... the group is dedicated to advocating anti- racism - and cultural awareness within evansville and it's schools.... organizers say - it's an effort to promote social justice - while supporting the black lives matter organization.... "when you hear about it in the news, it's not just over there.
The issue is still here and it's in evansville and i think people gloss over that a lot.
Racism affects people here every day and i think that should be spoken up about more."
Organizers say - they plan on protesting every sunday near the four freedoms monument - for the foreseeable future....
