Fulton Family Resource Center hand out 500 food boxes to families

One local organization is lending a helping hand in Itawamba County by providing families with free food.

Since february, the fulton family resource center has been giving out free, healthy meals to families in need at fulton city park in fulton.

The food boxes contain pre- cooked meat, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit, butter, cheese and milk.

Regional coordinator, buddy collins, says it's an opportunity to help those in need during this time.

During these times there definite need especially when you are talking about food insecurity and this is just a great opportunity for the city of fulton, the family resource center to give back and try to help these people through trying times.

Collins said so far they've given away around 500 boxes of food.
