The c-d-c is easing its guidelines for those fully vaccinated.

Fully vaccinated people can visit people who have not received the vaccine without restrictions.

But -- the agency suggests the visits be limited to one un-vaccinated household at a time.

More than half-a-million alabamians are fully vaccinated.

Waay 31's olivia schueller is live in huntsville to tell us how that number has some people feeling better about heading outside -- but the timing isn't right for everyone.

Olivia... empty downtown streets are now filled...downto wn huntsville is starting to look how it used to pre-pandemic.

With more vaccinations in arms...some people feel better about leaving their homes...others say they'll wait a little longer.

Robert clark i think will wait six months, to be sure.

You know?

Cause it's better to be sure then to take a chance.

Even after being vaccinated...clar k says he's not ready to go back to a restaurant.

He is just now starting to see family.

Clark it's been a year and two months since we've seen them.

Executive chef kristen caroselli said it's been busier since more alabamian's have got their vaccines.

Kristen caroselli, executive chef & gm of the poppy and parliament a lot of people at lunch time, people saying you know this is my first time coming out in a year and it's very powerful to see that, and it's exciting for us.

Caroselli said just a few weeks ago...a group of older adults came in...celebrating being fully vaccinated.

Caroselli it was a room full of people who hadn't been out in a year.

It was unbelievable to see the smiles on their faces, engage, eat with one another outside.

Other vaccinated individuals say they've been supporting restaurants since the pandemic began by ordering in...but now...they're ready to head out and eat indoors.

Bill caudilly a matter of fact i'll be going to one tonight.

Caroselli now that we're a year in...it's less scary and we're more hopeful we're seeing a light at the end of the tunnel everyone that i spoke to today at john hunt park said they're excited to go out and enjoy restatuants with friends and family again but that they're going to continue to wear masks when they're out...even if they're fully vaccinated.
