A photographer in the Kamchatka Peninsula, eastern Russia, had a terrifying close encounter with a bear that began to approach him.
Andrey Kalinov attempted to snap a few good shots of a bear who had somehow entered a restricted zone in June 2020.
The huge mammal at one point appeared to leap towards the photographer.
Kalinov said: "The bear came to the post of fish protection and behaved insolently.
Permission was obtained to shoot it.
However, I didn't want to kill the beast, and I tried to convince it to exit the territory.
During our interaction, we managed to take quite a few beautiful photos."
