Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen held talks in Dhaka on March 26.
PM Modi is in the neighbouring country for a two-day visit.
The Prime Minister's visit comes as Bangladesh is celebrating its 50th Independence Day and the centennial birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
PM Modi will later call on Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid during the visit and will hold restricted delegation-level talks with his counterpart Sheikh Hasina.
This is PM Modi's first foreign visit since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
While speaking to ANI, the foreign minister of Bangladesh, Dr AK Abdul Momen said, "PM Modi said we (India and Bangladesh) have developed a good friendship and we have to work together in such a way so that the entire region develops within next 50 years.
We may have some issues but we will solve all of them through dialogue and discussion."
