Phase one of voting in Assam and West Bengal has begun.
Voters in large numbers gathered outside the polling stations from early in the morning.
EC says voter turnout till 9 AM is 8.84%, 7.72% in Assam and West Bengal respectively.
Elections for 294 constituencies in West Bengal will be held in eight phases, starting today till April 29.
Elections will be held in 3 phases in Assam starting today.
Counting for both the elections will be done on May 2.
