Time earlier today to recognize 16 of it's community volunteers and present them with a grant to benefit a local nonprofit organization that they support.
We caught up with one of those community volunteers, dana dinigro, who presented her grant... a $15,000 check to cny quest for mia's place.
Mia's place is new to the area and is located in the par technology business park on seneca turnpike.
It's a place where children with and without learning disabilities can play and learn together without becoming over stimulated.
"my daughter is mia.she's currently 8-years-old.
Throughout the years we've really noticed that there's not a lot of locations that we can bring her that were not over stimulating.
So creating a place where she can learn and play without the judgmeor or locations has be very imrtant to us.we' always lt there's be a need to somethie area for these children."
Mia's place will open their doors to the community this tuesday, march 30th.
Due to covid 19 restrictions the number of people allowed in will be limited so reservations are required.
If you'd like to make a reservation you can go to our website...wktv.com and we'll have a link for you there.
