Bruceann King Is This Week's Hometown Hero
After the break.
Back to our community in which makes many of our hometown heroes---so valuable... tonight--i introduce you to one woman who is dedicating her life to helping others.
And we continue with the trend of feel-good it's a matter of making a difference--- "i just am blessed every single day."
For bruceann king of evansville---her dedication to the river city--has become her passion.... "i just love at the end of the day i can come home and say 'wow i made a difference in somebody's life."
King was the first e-v-s-c social worker hired---and has been working with cedar hall for more than 20 years... "you get an opportunity to do everything and the ultimate goal of making sure the kids are prepared for life.
Just with the basic skills of moving out and being productive individuals."
The evansville native was a social work adjunct professor at u-s- i----and served on the board of several organizations.... king has worked with generations of families--- having some sort of impact on students--- grandparents--- and the community.... it's within her memories on the job---that makes the days worth it.... "he said i need to let you know that made all the difference in the world.
For one thing i knew you cared about us and the second thing is you kept us out of trouble.
You taught us how to behave in the classroom."
But king says all she does---is in honor of the one person she calls the love of her life... "three years ago i lost my only grandchild to leukemia so that battle took a lot out of me.
So everything i do is in honor of my precious grandson julius."
Through her decades of dedication---it's tri-staters like bruceann king--- who continue to make the world a better place--- "everybody needs somebody.
Everybodynes a ppt st wth is iantoe atern.
