‘Black Panther’ Director Says Chadwick Boseman Would’ve Wanted Them to Keep Filming.

Director Ryan Coogler has opened up about the decision to move forward on ‘Black Panther 2’ without Chadwick Boseman.

.

Boseman, star of the original ‘Black Panther’ movie, died in August 2020 after a four-year battle with cancer.

.

Coogler told ‘The Hollywood Reporter’ that the decision was difficult, but he knew Boseman “wouldn’t have wanted [them] to stop.”.

It’s difficult.

You’ve got to keep going when you lose loved ones.

I know Chad wouldn’t have wanted us to stop … He was somebody who was so about the collective, Ryan Coogler, to 'The Hollywood Reporter'.

Coogler then spoke about Boseman’s commitment to the franchise and everyone involved, saying ‘Black Panther’ was “his movie.” .

Black Panther, that was his movie … On that set, he was all about everybody else.

Even though he was going through what he was going through, he was checking in on them, making sure they were good, Ryan Coogler, to 'The Hollywood Reporter'.

It’s because of Boseman’s dedication that Coogler felt it would be “harder for [him]” not to go on with production.

.

So it would be harder for me to stop.

Truthfully.

I’d feel him yelling at me, like, ‘What are you doing?’ So you keep going, Ryan Coogler, to 'The Hollywood Reporter'
