A task force of Fort Wayne businesses, nonprofits and other agencies announced a new effort to inform underserved populations about the COVID vaccine.

Pastor robert bell, united pastors of fort wayne: "i think we've got to use the technology and science that god has given us to continue to enhance our life."pastor robert bell is one of many community leaders working to inform underserved communities in fort wayne about the covid vaccine.churches, barber shops, and food banks in southeast fort wayne have set up information and registration sessions.pastor bell says it's an easy way to use word-of-mouthpastor robert bell, united pastors of fort wayne: "by reaching out to one member of the church they have family members" and the information spreads.stand up: one of the main points of the press conference was that they are not forcing anybody to get vaccinated.

They are merely providing people with enough information to make an informed decision about the vaccine.sharon tubbs, director of healthvisions midwest fort wayne: "we are not in the business of condemning people or coercing people"sharon tubbs of healthvisions midwest fort wayne says c-d-c handouts will be available at the registration sites.she grew up on the southeast side which has influenced her approach in the task force.sharon tubbs, director of healthvisions midwest fort wayne: "i know that the way to help people in these types of social ills is by working together with other agencies."another southeast native wayne township trustee austin knox sees the power of strength in numbers.austin knox, wayne township trustee: "everybody on this task force really cares"he says the younger generation can play a role as well, especially now that those over 16 are eligible for the vaccine.

In addition to the registration events c-t-n in fort wayne has partnered with uber to give people free rides to registrations and vaccinations.
