The Union agriculture minister appealed to protesting farmers to suspend their stir amid the latest Covid-19 infection surge.
The appeal came on the day that the farmers launched a 24-hour blockade of the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal highway near Delhi.
The farmer protests at the borders of the national capital have been going on for over 4 months.
They want a new minimum support price (MSP) law, as well as scrapping of 3 recent farm laws.
