An elephant calf fell into a well in Odisha's Mayurbhanj.
The calf fell into a 15-foot-deep well on April 9 night.
It was finally rescued by the forest and fire departments.
Earth diggers were used to clear the soil near the well.
The elephant was pulled out using a rope contraption.
“The calf accidently fell in to the well last night while it was roaming with its herd.
We were informed of the movement of the elephant and we immediately rushed to the spot and rescued the calf.
The calf was quite fit and we’re keeping a watch on it regarding its movement,” said Rabi Narayan Mohanty, Range Officer.
