Bridget.... dr. suzanne judd said herd immunity could happen as early as june obviously, if the rate of vaccinations slows down, that timeline would change.
In fact dr. judd with the university of alabama at birmingham says that if everyone in the state of alabama stopped getting vaccinated today by thanksgiving we'd have the same immunity levels we did at last year's thanksgiving.
"that means we'd be right back in lockdown.
We'd be right back to our hospitals being full so, it's really critical that people continue to get vaccinated over the next 3 to 6 months so that that doesn't havppen again at thanksgiving."
Dr. judd says the goal for the state of alabama is to get three point five million people vaccinated so we can slow down the spread of covid.
