The Locker Room: High School Baseball (4/16)

The FOX 55 Sports team brings you action from three local baseball games in this week's Locker Room.

Inside the locker room boys and girls..well pete, obviously a big day for caleb furst and blackhawk christian...b-c's basketball team often finds itself in the spotlight, and deservedly so, but don't sleep on the braves' baseball team either... yeah, it's a program that's got three state championships to its name, and they're hoping to add a fourth this season..

The braves come into the night with a 2-1 record, currently ranked seventh in the class 1-a state poll... ???tonight jake boyer and the braves hosting concordia lutheran on a beautiful night for baseball...???pitching and defense were the name of the game early on in this one... top of the first, saint francis signee callan wood works his way out of a jam with a strikeout..

???bottom of the inning... blackhawk looking to get on the board...but dalton brown says not so fast... nice pick... and completes the out with a throw from his knees... zeroes on the scoreboard after one..

???braves can play some defense too though... in the second... check out this diving stop from freshman aiden muldoon..

No play at first, but he's able to get the out at third...???however, it's the cadets who go on to win this one by a final of 5-2... next high school stop takes us to carroll... chargers hosting bishop dwenger for a double dip tonight...game one..

Tied at one in the third... not for long... daniel kirk hits a chopper to short..

Callan stauffer boots the ball... a run scores..

Make it 2-1 chargers...and then the floodgates started to open... next batter... jayden duba singles through the right side... cam niedens comes around to score to make it 3-1... later in the inning... conner barkel blasts a ball to the fence in right field... two more runs are in... make it 7-1 chargers now...a few batters later... jaycob mccullough follows suit... just misses a home run... that brings barkel home... carroll puts up a nine spot in the third inning...they would end up taking game one 15-1 in five... they take game two as well..

8-0 your final in that one... final high school stop comes in turtle town... churubusco hosting whitko this evening...second inning... busco already up big and adding on to it... keenan hendricks tucks this ball just fair inside the left field foul line... two runs come in to score... seth abel... trying to make it three... but he's gunned down at the dish.... still caps a 10 run second inning... busco takes a 15-4 lead....next inning... they're tacking on some more... keaton blessing hits a ball to short... he's thrown out at first... but that brings charles spring in to score from third... eagles up 12....whitko would get one back in the fourth..
