Officials in Maros Regency, South Sulawesi, managed to rescue a dolphin that was stranded in a pond for two days.

Footage from April 30 shows the rescue team wrapping a blanket around the dolphin before hauling it onto a boat.

They then sailed out to sea where they are seen releasing the dolphin.

Muhammad Risal, the coordinator of the rescue, said that he was amazed that the dolphin managed to reach the pond as it was located about 5 kilometres from the sea.

He also mentioned that the pond owner had been feeding fish to the stranded dolphin to keep it alive.
