Terrified motorcycle rider tries to escape angry cow running on road
A terrified motorcycle rider tried to escape an angry cow that was running along the road in Thailand.
CCTV footage shows the man slowing down to avoid hitting the cow before he was chased down by the animal on the farm road in Buriram province on May 2.
The mother cow kept running after the rider for 50 metres until her newborn calf began crying and so she turned away from the man and approached the young animal.
It was believed to have been protecting the calf against the loud sounds from vehicles passing by the farmland where they fed on grass.
Rider Jirayut Deeduaichart, 29, said he was travelling to a relative’s home when the cow appeared to have been angered when he slowed down and charged at him.
He said: ‘I don’t know why it was suddenly angry at me.
I even tried to be careful around it so that I would not hit it accidentally.
It was wandering in the middle of the road.’ Jirayut sped away from the road when the cow left him and the animal reunited with her calf and went back to the fields together.
Somphong Siriwan, 59, Jirayut’s mother-in-law said: ‘He was heading to my house and then I saw the cow becoming angry.
So I told him to run away.
‘When he was about to leave and passed by the same road the cow sprinted again at him and he tried his best to speed up so he was not injured by the horns.’
