This is the moment a house was swept away by raging floods after heavy rain in Indonesia.

The old house made mostly with light materials was seen slowly drifting in the muddy deluge in Musirawas District, Lubuklinggau City in South Sumatra on May 29.

Resident Dedi Charles said they woke up in the morning when their neighbour’s home was damaged and displaced by the deep flooding.

He said: "I felt so bad for my neighbour.

They were all safe but their house was gone.

We could not do anything to help them because it was too dangerous." The Indonesian National Disaster Management Agency informed that the Lakit River overflowed due to heavy rains overnight which caused severe flooding in nearby residential areas that reached a depth of 1.5 meters.

Indonesia and other countries in Southeast Asia such as Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines are at the start of their tropical monsoon rainy season.

Soaring temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius are often followed by powerful tropical storms with thunder, lightning, rain and flash floods.
