Firefighters were quick to contain two fast-growing vegetation fires, one of which forced evacuations.
Flames devoured dry grass in El Dorado Hills near Blackstone and Valley View parkways, close to some homes.
The fire burned about 30 acres in total.Crews also worked to contain a brush fire burning north of Antelope near the Sacramento and Placer county lines.
About 42 acres burned before firefighters got it under control.
No structures were threatened in that fire.
