In today’s episode we head a little north west from previous neighborhoods as we look into the interesting development of University City.
Around World War I, the area was previously used as Camp Calvin B.
Matthews, a rifle base for the military up until around 1964.
This was because the land was transformed into what today as the University of California San Diego and UTC shopping area.
And just east of that area lies the community of University City or UC for short.
UC’s remaining borders are maintained by the nearby cities and neighborhoods of La Jolla, Miramar, and North Clairemont.
