After days of intense outrage over the force's management of a continuing anti-government trucker demonstration in the Canadian capital, Ottawa's police chief has formally resigned his position.
Peter Sloly confirmed earlier rumors that he has resigned as chief of the Ottawa Police Service in a post tweeted on Tuesday afternoon.
