The drive through Cathedral Valley road takes all day.
This is an improved dirt road, but the sand can get deep in areas.
We started on the west side with the Upper Cathedral Valley Overlook, and continued to Gypsum Sinkhole, and on to the Temple of the Sun and Moon.
This is an unbelievable drive, and worth spending the day taking it all in.
We recommend at least an AWD vehicle so you can make it through the deeper sand in certain areas.
The road turn on UT 24 in Mesa, only a few minutes from the east entrance of the park.
