Officials say one of the plan's important new ideas is the "Test to Treat" initiative announced by President Joe Biden during his recent State of the Union address.

"Test to Treat" would allow Americans to receive antiviral pills for free at their local pharmacy "on the spot" if they test positive for coronavirus.

"One-Stop Test to Treat" locations will reportedly begin operations later this month.

Paxlovid, the antiviral pill Americans can soon procure for free, has been found to reduce severe illness and hospitalization associated with COVID-19.

The White House has reportedly ordered 20 million treatment courses in preparation for the rollout of "Test to Treat.".
