Welcome back to the Wednesday edition of Real Talk With Ronnie.
Tonight, we welcome Dr. Dennis Peng onto our program.
Dr. Peng was a famous and highly respected television personality and journalist in Taiwan where he hosted his own show on Formosa Television, the biggest television station in Taiwan for a number of years.
All that changed in 2019 when he started to report on the story of the President of Taiwan's thesis from the London School of Economics back when she was a doctoral student at the famous British institution in the 1980's.
Specifically, Dr. Peng reported on the emerging news and scandal that perhaps President Tsai never completed her dissertation which was a requirement for her graduation.
Not long after Dr. Peng broke this story, his prime time show was canceled and he has since relocated to California.
Dr. Peng was charged with committing libel against President Tsai and is currently the first and only individual in the history of Taiwan to be sued by a sitting President.
Should Dr. Peng ever return to Taiwan, he will be arrested and faces a number of years in prison.
Since relocating to California, Dr. Peng has started his own YouTube show called, "True Voice of Taiwan" where he broadcasts daily and focuses his daily shows on bringing attention to President Tsai's "Thesis-Gate".
His show is hugely successful and Dr. Peng has amassed over 300,000 followers who tune in daily to his broadcast.
Dr. Peng currently also serves as an Adjunct Professor at National Taiwan University.
