According to NPR, more than 63 million Americans live with unsafe amounts of deadly particulate matter pollution, or particles made up dust, ash, metals and soot.

These particles are often the result of gas-powered machinery and industrial plants, though recently, they've been coming from wildfires.
As the world experiences the perils of climate change, wildfires are burning hotter and lasting longer.
