Pickups Collide, 3 Hospitalized, INDIAN SPRINGS, August 4, 2022 - At approximately 4:10 pm on August 4, 2022, a silver 2013 Ford F-250, driven by Angela Vanek, 45, of Livingston, was east-bound on US-190 East.
Vanek had stopped and was waiting to make a left turn (opposite side of the road from the entrance of Indians Springs) when a white 2014 GMC Sierra pickup, driven by Jessica Haygood, 35, of Woodville side swiped Vanek's pickup on the passenger's side.
The impact caused Vanek's vehicle to roll as it came to rest upside down on the pavement while Haygood's vehicle left the pavement to the left and came to rest at the woodline.
Haygood was aslo east-bound and initially left the pavement to the right, then she overcorrected left and swerved back up onto the pavement and impacted Vanek's pickup.
Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Indian Springs Volunteer Fire Department, Alabama Coushatta Police Department, and Troopers Johnny Wilkerson and Donny Akers with the Texas Highway Patrol.
Both drivers and Vanek's minor son were transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries.
A contributing factor in this accident may be a medical condition for Haygood.
Traffic on 190 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup.
Vanek's vehicle was recovered by Kwik Tow out of Livingston while Haygood's vehicle was recovered by LakeView Towing, also out of Livingston.
This accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.
