Western media are now awash with gloomy forecasts for the coming winter and the sobering lifestyle changes that Europeans will have to make in order to get through it, but the European reliance on Russian energy wasn’t just a short-sighted political folly.
It’s the fundamental economic factor that underlies the entire economy of the eurozone, part of the foundation on which European prosperity was built.
