The niece of slain Palestinian American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh is demanding that the U.S. government conduct its own independent investigation into her aunt’s death.
Akleh was fatally shot while covering unrest in the West Bank on May 11.
A recent report from the Israeli government concluded there was ‘high probability’ she was shot by IDF soldier(s) but stated no individuals will be charged for the shooting.
