Alice and Jack Chambers live in an idyllic 1950s-styled neighborhood of the company town of Victory, California, in an uncertain time period.
Men go to work at Victory Headquarters in the desert every day, while their wives (including Bunny and Margaret) stay home to clean, relax, and prepare dinner for their husbands.
The women are forbidden from asking questions about their husbands' jobs and are told not to go to the headquarters.
